In a significant development for Pakistan's senior men's cricket, a fresh seven-member national selection committee has been unveiled, comprising notable figures from the cricketing realm. Among the appointed members are former captain Mohammad Yousuf, left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz, versatile all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, and middle-order batsman Asad Safiq. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this pivotal decision during a press conference held at their headquarters in Gaddafi Stadium.

Expressing optimism in the collective experience of the selected individuals, Naqvi voiced expectations for positive outcomes under their stewardship. He underscored that the committee will assume full responsibility for decision-making going forward, including the imminent selection of the team captain.

Furthermore, Naqvi outlined the impending formation of a separate panel tasked with appointing coaches for various teams. This panel, consisting of both national and international coaches, is slated to be finalized within the next four to five days.

Regarding player contracts, Naqvi revealed that the PCB has reinstated the central contract of pace bowler Haris Rauf, forwarding his appeal to the tribunal. He assured that Rauf's injury-related concerns would be addressed through insurance coverage. Additionally, Naqvi emphasized the implementation of a uniform No Objection Certificate (NOC) policy for all players, without any exceptions or relaxations.
