1. RR won the toss and elected to bowl first against GT

 2. GT lost early wickets of Shubman Gill, Mathew Wade, and Vijay Shankar on 53 runs. However captain Hardik Pandya stayed in the middle till the end.
 

3. Abhinav Manohar made an attacking 43 runs off 28 balls and David Miller played an unbeaten cameo of 31 runs off 14 deliveries. Both made 50+ partnerships with Skipper Hardik Pandya.  Hardik Pandya scored unbeaten  87 runs off 52 balls.

4. GT managed to score 192/4 in their 20 overs.

5. Replying to GT total,  RR lost Devdutt Padikkal's wicket for a golden duck and they sprang a surprise by sending Ravichandran Ashwin at no.3. However, the trick didn't work because Ashwin made run-a-ball 8 runs. On the other hand, Jos Buttler played an incredible inning of 54 runs off 24 balls.

6. After the fall of the Buttler's wicket, RR kept losing wickets, and no one was able to stay. 

7. For GT, Debutant Yash Dayal took 3/40 in his 4 overs and Lockie Ferguson took  3/23 in his 4 overs.

8. RR managed to score 155/9 and lost the match by 37.
