"For me, it's always been about quality over quantity. It has worked for me. Knowing the game helps me not to train too much and try and repeat the things that have worked in the past. But I always think I can improve," said Kohli at the post-match presentation.

He explained his tactical tweak. "I started playing the slogsweep against spinners. I didn't practice it much, but I have done it before. Being able to manipulate the field against spin does take guts and belief. We reached a point where we disregarded the standings and played for self-respect. Our aim is to elevate our standards. Had we done so earlier, our playoff prospects wouldn't be contingent on numerous external factors."

Meanwhile, PBKS skipper Sam Curran expressed disappointment at the team's premature elimination with two games remaining.

"It's frustrating and disheartening. Despite glimpses of promise, we fell short in crucial moments. It's a learning curve for us," remarked Curran.

As Curran reflected on the highs and lows of this season, he underlined the need for constant improvement: "Our dressing room has enough experience, but there is always room for growth. The setbacks have not deterred our determination to succeed."
