Eva Longoria Prioritizes Projects with Loved Ones: "Life is Too Short"

Actress Eva Longoria says she chooses projects differently, looking for the importance of working with friends and loved ones.

"I want to work with people I love," Longoria said, speaking of friends and fellow actresses Kerry Washington and Gabrielle Union, whom she will be working with in coming projects. This was revealed in her interview with people.com while at the Cannes Film Festival.

She explained, "Life's too short to work with a-------, and I'd much rather be surrounded by people I love and creatives that I respect," saying that she does her project selection by "reverse engineering."

Longoria first thinks about the people she wants to collaborate with and then seeks out projects that are a good fit for everyone involved.

"It's the people and their vision and what they bring to it more than the actual project" 

She also mentioned having a list of directors and producers she is eager to work with.

Longoria's creative process involves "develop projects around that idea," with specific collaborators in mind. 

"Like, 'Okay, if I want to work with Carmen Maura, what would be a good vehicle for that?' "she explained.
