With polling for the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for Monday, Shah Rukh Khan stressed the need to exercise our democratic right.
As the electoral process enters the fifth phase with six constituencies in Mumbai and seven others in Maharashtra, Shah Rukh took to social media to request his fans and followers to be responsible citizens of India.
In the latest update, Shah Rukh wrote, "As responsible Indian citizens we must exercise our right to vote this Monday in Maharashtra. Let’s carry out our duty as Indians and vote keeping our country’s best interests in mind. Go forth Promote, our right to Vote."
This comes close on the heels of a similar message from fellow superstar Salman Khan, who also urged people to exercise their right to vote.
"I exercise 365 days a year no matter what and now I’m going to exercise my right to vote on the 20th of May no matter what. So do whatever you want to do man, but go and vote and don’t trouble your Bharat Mata .. Bharat Mata ki Jai," Salman posted on social media on Friday.
The Lok Sabha elections will happen in seven phases, with vote counting scheduled for June 4th.
