Bravo expressed his frustration with the lack of communication and felt left in the dark regarding his future in international cricket.

Darren Bravo, despite his impressive performance in domestic cricket, has announced his decision to step away from cricket in the Caribbean after being overlooked for the West Indies squad in the upcoming ODI series against England.

Despite leading Trinidad & Tobago to victory in the 2023 Super50 Cup and being the top run-scorer in the tournament, Bravo was not selected for the West Indies squad.

His absence from the team after consistent performances in regional tournaments and domestic cricket left him disheartened, feeling that the authorities had made it clear he was not part of their plans.

Bravo emphasized that his decision to step away temporarily was not giving up but rather making room for younger talents to emerge. He acknowledged that if he couldn't secure a place in the team despite his efforts and performances, it might be time to create opportunities for emerging talents.

He also highlighted the lack of communication from the cricket authorities, expressing his disappointment at being left in the dark regarding his international cricketing career. His brother, Dwayne Bravo, a legendary fast-bowling all-rounder, had also criticized the selectors, particularly chief selector Desmond Haynes, for overlooking Darren despite his consistent performances in domestic cricket.
