Chris Gayle: 'I Want Batters to Destroy Bowlers, and Rohit Sharma Can Do That

Chris Gayle, the former West Indies cricket star, sees Indian captain Rohit Sharma as a crucial player in India's preparations for the upcoming T20I World Cup set to take place in the West Indies and the USA in June 2024. 

Gayle believes Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, based on their performances in the recently concluded ODI World Cup, have earned the right to make decisions regarding their future in the team.

Gayle acknowledged Rohit Sharma's achievement in breaking his record for the most sixes across all formats and praised Rohit's aggressive batting style, stating his admiration for batters who challenge and overpower bowlers.

Regarding Virat Kohli, who surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most ODI centuries during the ODI World Cup, Gayle lauded the accomplishment, acknowledging Kohli's feat as unbelievable and fantastic, especially considering breaking a legendary player's record like Tendulkar's.

Having established himself in international cricket, Gayle, renowned for his ability to hit sixes, continues to thrive in the game. He expressed his excitement about participating in the Legends League Cricket (LLC) and mentioned that being part of this league, especially alongside former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis, feels like a dream come true. 

Gayle emphasized his passion for cricket, describing it as his lifeblood and expressing his joy at being part of such a prestigious league and sharing the dressing room with legendary players.
