Champions Trophy: Shami Becomes Fastest Indian to Take 200 ODI Wickets

261 – The number of innings it took Rohit Sharma to reach 11,000 runs in ODIs, becoming the second-quickest batter to reach this milestone. Virat Kohli is the leader, who reached it in 222 innings. In terms of the balls faced, Rohit took 11,868 deliveries to achieve this figure, behind only Kohli, who did it in 11,831 balls.

5126 – The number of deliveries Mohammed Shami took to get to 200 wickets in One Day Internationals, a new record as the fastest to get to this mark. He broke Mitchell Starc's earlier record of 5240 balls. In terms of matches, Shami is joint-second fastest with Saqlain Mushtaq, both taking the mark in 104 ODIs. Starc is still the fastest in this category, having taken 200 wickets in 102 matches.

Shikhar Dhawan was the previous record holder, who did it in 57 innings. Gill has also scored 2688 runs in ODIs till now, breaking Hashim Amla's record of 2538 runs at the same point of their careers.

5th – How many times India has not got a wicket between overs 11-40 in a men's ODI since 2002. It is also the fifth time that Bangladesh batted through this phase without losing a wicket. But India only managed to push them to score 126 in those 30 overs.

154 – The record stand of Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali, Bangladesh's record highest partnership against India for any wicket in men's ODIs. This is also Bangladesh's best-ever sixth-wicket partnership in ODIs and the highest against India.

This is the second-highest dropped catches in this time, only behind Tom Latham (11). Rohit's catching rate is 54.55%, having held only 12 of the 22 opportunities that came his way, the worst among all fielders with 20+ chances since 2023.

8 – The wickets taken by India's pacers in their 21.4 overs on Thursday at an economy rate of 4.80 runs per over. Bangladesh's pace attack could only take two wickets in 26.3 overs and were expensive, giving away runs at an economy of 5.88. Bangladesh's spinners, though, put lots of pressure, keeping an economy rate of only 3.75 in 20 overs, while India's spinners bowled at 4.39 runs per over.

India scored 69 runs in their first ten overs losing one wicket, while Bangladesh could only score 39 runs losing five wickets. Though Bangladesh's bowlers held India back to a mere 120 runs for the loss of three wickets in the middle overs, their own run rate was slow though they did not lose wickets, having scored only six more than India during this period.
