CA also said that tickets for the New Year's Test at the SCG are selling fast, with a limited number of Category A and Category B tickets only available for Days 1 to 3.

A strong demand followed after a record crowd flocked to Adelaide Oval for the second test of the series, which Australia won by 10 wickets to level the five-match series 1-1.

The total attendance at the Adelaide Oval of 135,012 in three days broke the previous record of 113,009 for a Test against India, which was set over five days in 2014-15.

And it was the single day Test record for attendance against India, too, that smashed, as 50,186 came in on Day 1 and 51,642 made its way to the park on Day 2-a ground the third and fifth most-attended Test cricket across any one day at Adelaide Oval according to Cricket Australia figures.

The opening Test of the series, hosted at the Perth Stadium, also put up record attendance of 96, 463.
