Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that he was deeply concerned about the incident involving a helicopter of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. India, he said, stood in solidarity with the people of Iran at this disturbing time.
Reports said that a helicopter carrying President Raisi, the foreign minister, and other officials crashed in the mountainous northwest of Iran. The accident brought in a major rescue operation in a fog-covered forest, where authorities called on the public to pray.
"Deeply concerned by reports regarding President Raisi's helicopter flight today. We stand in solidarity with the Iranian people in this hour of distress, and pray for the well-being of the President and his entourage," he said in a post on X.
