In a stern and impassioned speech on Saturday, AAP MP Raghav Chadha gave a strong warning to Pakistan while hailing the Indian Armed Forces for the retaliation with 'Operation Sindoor' after last week's terror attack in Pahalgam.
Chadha recalled India's proven policy of calibrated restraint followed by firm action, saying, "We don't start fights, but we never leave them unfinished."
Emphasizing the challenge of geography, he added, "You can select your friends, but not your neighbours. And if the neighbour happens to be Pakistan, it becomes our bounden responsibility to deal with it firmly."
Deploring the April 22 Pahalgam attack as "a blemish on humanity," Chadha declared that revenge was already being taken, terming it the "first installment" of Operation Sindoor.
Praising the valour of Indian soldiers, he stated, "The unmatched bravery with which our armed forces are waging war testifies that this time, terrorism will be eradicated." He also urged citizens to unite in solidarity in support of the armed forces and their families.
"We have to pray for the safety of our soldiers and give unshakeable support to their families," he added, while hailing the service of pioneering officers like Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. "Families sending their daughters to defend our honour and sons to secure our borders are worthy of our unshakable support."
Chadha reminded Pakistan of their defeats at war, saying, "India humbled Pakistan in 1971, forcing more than 90,000 soldiers to surrender and giving birth to Bangladesh. From Siachen in 1984 to Kargil in 1999, our men battered their treacherous designs."
With rhetorical flourish, he added, "India toh Pakistan ka baap hai, aur baap toh hamesha baap hota hai (India is Pakistan's father, and a father always remains a father)."
He also denounced Pakistan's historic record of harbouring terrorists, remembering previous attacks from the 2001 Parliament attack to the 2008 Mumbai massacre and the Pulwama attack in 2019.
"A nation that begs before the world clock-wise and round-the-clock and takes more interest in raising terrorists than feeding children must now undergo the collective anger of India," he cautioned.
Invoking India's double heritage of peace and struggle, Chadha said, "We are the land of Buddha, but also of Arjun and Bhim. We follow the ideals of Gandhi, but we also derive strength from Bhagat Singh and Chandrashekhar Azad."
He ended with a firm warning: "India is reminding Pakistan of its past defeats—from 1971 to Kargil. If you do not change your ways, the day is not far when the Ganga flows from Kashi to Islamabad and the Tricolour rises above Rawalpindi. Jai Hind."
