Spiritual guru Acharya Pramod Krishnam set off an intense attack on Rahul Gandhi, the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, on Saturday, asserting that Gandhi is extremely popular in Pakistan and would be victorious by a huge majority if he ever stood for election there.
His assertions came after a series of videos of Rahul Gandhi were circulated in Pakistan and had gone viral.
Talking to IANS, Acharya Pramod Krishnam stated, "If Rahul Gandhi fights elections from Pakistan, he will come winning with a thumping majority. Rahul Gandhi never trusts what Indian leaders or institutions state. When Indian leaders say that the Indian Army has sent a proper reply to Pakistan, then Rahul Gandhi asks for evidence. But if a Pakistani leader makes a statement, he believes it without fail.". This is why the people of Pakistan love him so much, and it seems he, too, has a deep affection for Pakistan.”
Krishnam also addressed Rahul Gandhi’s recent questioning of the government’s Operation Sindoor, where Gandhi raised concerns about the mission and specifically asked External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar how many Indian aircraft were lost during the operation.
"Rahul Gandhi has made a habit of criticizing the Indian Army, Parliament, and the Constitution," Krishnam added. "When a child strays, there is always hope that he will reform. But Rahul Gandhi, having such a well-known family background, looks absolutely spoilt. I do not see any hope of his improving. Nevertheless, I tell him not to criticise the nation."
On comparisons drawn by Congress leaders between former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Krishnam has said, "Indira Gandhi was a extremely popular leader who gave a lesson to Pakistan. But this nation has never been blessed with a Prime Minister like Narendra Modi. India is commanding world respect and fear today due to him."
Regarding the controversy involving Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai sharing photos of Prime Minister Modi’s family, Acharya Pramod Krishnam asserted that Rai was merely a pawn and that Rahul Gandhi was the real architect behind such actions.
When Rahul Gandhi loses elections, democracy is dead for him. But when he wins, democracy is alive again. If the Supreme Court delivers judgment in his favour, then it is really good. Rahul Gandhi is an abnormal person," he said to IANS.
When questioned on whether Congress leaders Salman Khurshid and Shashi Tharoor's praise of Prime Minister Modi—especially over the scrapping of Article 370 and taking a tough line against Pakistan—could trigger internal rebellion within the party, Krishnam refused to comment directly on the possibility of any rebellion.
I do not want to comment if there has been a rebellion in Congress or not, but the Prime Minister is not being glorified just because the Congress leaders say so. The reality is out. If Narendra Modi was not the Prime Minister, there would have been no Ram Temple, no scrapping of Triple Talaq, and no stern reply to Pakistan. A person who has sacrificed his life for national interest is entitled to be glorified," he concluded.
