Following the shocking ouster of Tej Pratap Yadav from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Yadav family fold by party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap's estranged wife Aishwarya Rai has at long last made public serious charges against the family.

In a press statement, Aishwarya, granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai, questioned the ethical integrity of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi.

"Tej Pratap Yadav has confessed to having a relationship with another girl for 12 years. Then why was I married to him in 2018? Why did they destroy my life?" she asked, mentioning a now-removed post by Tej Pratap on social media where he revealed his long-term relationship.

She also revealed shock that Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi did not know of their son's affair before arranging his marriage to her. "Why was I kept in the dark?" she inquired.

Sheaped on Lalu Prasad's image as an advocate of social justice, Aishwarya pointed out the family's silence amidst her hardships.

"Lalu Prasad Yadav is speaking of social justice now after having thrown out his own son. Where was his conscience when I was beaten up and thrown out of my home by Rabri Devi? Can he tell me that?" she asked.

Aishwarya did not mind blaming the entire Yadav family for her ordeal.

"The social justice of Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav is all a pre-text. They were all party to it, and I had to pay the price for their actions."

When asked about the next course of action, Rai reiterated that her divorce proceedings continue unabated.

"We will proceed with the next step as per law. The issue is sub judice."

Aishwarya Rai and Tej Pratap Yadav exchanged vows in a grand ceremony in May 2018, but the relationship fell apart within a couple of months. She had previously charged Tej Pratap and his family with domestic violence and mental harassment, leading to a legal battle that is still pending.

These new disclosures have again put the personal life of Bihar's most powerful political family in the public eye, raising uncomfortable questions regarding transparency, accountability, and political dynasty ethics.
