Prime Minister Narendra Modi told on Thursday that security forces quickly responded to the April 22 terror strike by destroying nine of the most wanted terrorist bases along the border in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in a span of 22 minutes, in codename Operation Sindoor.
He termed this operation a new genre of justice for terrorists and their supporters, and also presented a three-pronged approach to deal with terrorism.
Once there is an attack of terror on Indian land, the adversary will be met with a solid and appropriate retaliation. It will be decided by our security forces where, when, and how the retaliation would take place," PM Modi claimed.
He added further, "The second premise is India will not be threatened by blackmail of the atom bomb.". And thirdly, terrorists, their sponsors, and the governments that harbor them will all be held accountable on one standard. He underlined that Pakistan's policy of employing state and non-state actors as a cover for its blatant sponsorships of terrorism will no longer be accepted.
Throwing a stern warning to the supporters of terrorism, PM Modi announced that it's a New India, and Operation Sindoor represents the country's new mantra in combating acts of terrorism. "The people who targeted our sisters and tried to wipe off their sindoor, we have brought them to rubble level. This is a new type of justice — 'yeh Operation Sindoor hai,'" he asserted firmly.
Looking back at the government's firm stand against terrorism over the past decade, the Prime Minister pointed out, "Earlier, we attacked within their country, but this time, we hit at their very heart." He further added, "Those who thought India would keep quiet are now shaking in fear. Those who were boasting about their weapons are now buried under the rubble," emphasizing how the rival country lost heart after the escalation initiated by Operation Sindoor.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the country's solidarity following the Pahalgam terror attack, stating that all 140 crore citizens have vowed to inflict punishment on terrorists beyond imagination. "Grateful to our armed forces. Pakistan has been given a stern lesson. Our government gave a free hand to our forces, and they have put Pakistan on its knees," he added.
