In a bold diplomatic move, India on Wednesday started rallying global opinion to bring to the fore Pakistan's decades-long support of terrorism after initiating Operation Sindoor.
As part of this, multi-party parliamentary delegations have commenced visiting strategic world capitals to assert India's right of self-defence under international law.
JD(U) Lok Sabha member Sanjay Jha and Shiv Sena's Shrikant Shinde are heading two such delegations, to Japan and the UAE, respectively, to highlight Pakistan's long-term game of fostering terror groups.
Reiterating its position, the Ministry of External Affairs reiterated in a social media post, "Zero tolerance against terrorism," as the delegations set out on their assignments.
Jha's team is to further proceed to South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, strengthening India's global outreach after the showdown with Pakistan. Shinde's team, in turn, will proceed to African countries like Congo, Liberia, and Sierra Leone to reiterate India's unflinching message against terrorism and apprise the leadership of these nations of Operation Sindoor.
"Our agenda is clear and unambiguous: to engage state-sponsored terror, and particularly Pakistan's, on the international front. We will bring forth the stunning success of Operation Sindoor and reaffirm India's unquestionable Right to Self-Defence as codified in International Law," tweeted Shinde.
He said, "This delegation will convey a forceful, consistent message to the world community based on India's firm position against terror and our abiding commitment to promoting world peace and security."
The armed forces operation under Operation Sindoor, which was in direct response to the fatal terror strike at Pahalgam killing at least 26 civilians, targeted nine terror camps within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
In his press release on X, Jha underscored that the delegation's basic purpose is to "tell the world the truth about Pakistan's policy of patronising terrorism and the action taken by India in response under Operation Sindoor."
Jha's delegation comprises BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brijlal, Pradhan Barua, and Hemang Joshi; Congress veteran and former external affairs minister Salman Khurshid; TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee; CPI(M)'s John Brittas; and former Indian ambassador Mohan Kumar.
Conversely, the Shinde-led delegation contains BJP leaders Bansuri Swaraj, Manan Mishra, and Atul Garg, BJD's Sasmit Patra, IUML MP E T Mohammad Basheer, former Union minister S S Ahluwalia, and former diplomat Sujan Chinoy.
Ministry of External Affairs confirmed, "First batch of All-Party Delegation under JD(U) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha has left on a 5-country tour as part of India's diplomatic offensive on Operation Sindoor." The nations visited—Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore—have been strategically selected to support India's anti-terrorism campaign.
Seven all-party teams in all, India is sending to 33 key global cities as part of a well-coordinated effort to make aware the terror agenda of Pakistan and the strong and legal counter actions of India.
