Although NDA sustained massive loss during the recently-held Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, the INDIA block, especially the Samajwadi Party, bagged significant returns, forcing its domain citing the "PDA" formula.

The abbreviation "PDA" summarises the SP's commitment to working for the 'Pichhra (backward), Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (minorities)' communities.
The new government formation marks the OBC representation prominently on the board with five ministers from Uttar Pradesh along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

These ministers belong to the community of Jayant Chaudhary (Jat), Pankaj Chaudhary (Kurmi), Anupriya Patel (Kurmi), and BL Verma (Lodh); in addition to them, the list includes Kamlesh Paswan (Pasi) and SP Baghel (Dhangar) from the Dalit community.

Three leaders from the so-called upper castes have also been given ministerial berths along with them - Rajnath Singh and Minister of State Kirtivardhan Singh, who hail from the Kshatriya community, and Minister of State Jitin Prasada, who belongs to the Brahmin community.

The Modi 3.0 government also has ministers from other allied parties, like the RLD's Jayant Chaudhary and the Apna Dal (S)'s Anupriya Patel, who has been inducted into the NDA in 2014 and for the third time as Minister of State.
Not all political party's friends of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh got ministerial seats - like the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) led by UP's Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar and the Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal (NISHAD) led by UP's Fisheries Minister Sanjay Nishad, who lost in the elections.

However, Arvind Rajbhar and Praveen Nishad, son of the NISHAD Party president, who were fighting on SBSP's symbol, were defeated in their respective seats.

Of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, BJP won in 33, while the RLD won two and Apna Dal (S) one; the Samajwadi Party won 37; the Congress made it in six.

Prominent Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad managed to secure one seat by winning from the Nagina seat as an independent fighter, but the powerful Dalit bandwagon of the BSP could not log into any Lok Sabha seat in this election round.
