He specifically referred to the upcoming 'Pran Pratishta' program scheduled for January 22 at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. Udhayanidhi Stalin, also the son of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, clarified during a press interaction that the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) adheres to the principle of keeping religion separate from politics.

Speaking in Chennai, Udhayanidhi, who is also the DMK Youth Wing chief, expressed no issues with the construction of a temple at the site but voiced disagreement with the building of a temple following the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.

The recent incidents of Dalit violence took place in Tirunelvelli district in South Tamil Nadu where a group of school boys were charged for having barged into the residence of a Dalit schoolmate and hacking him with a sickle. The sister of the Dalit boy, who tried to prevent the intermediate caste students from attacking the boy, was also injured in the attack.

Jayakumar said that OPS had voted against the AIADMK government during the trust vote in 2017 and even after that EPS made him Deputy Chief Minister as well as Coordinator of the party. The former Minister alleged that EPS has however taken measures to protect the party after he realised that OPS had surrendered to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
