Tamil Nadu's Minister for Sports Development and Youth Welfare, Udhayanidhi Stalin, expressed on Thursday that his party does not endorse the construction of a temple on the site where a mosque was previously demolished.
He specifically referred to the upcoming 'Pran Pratishta' program scheduled for January 22 at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya. Udhayanidhi Stalin, also the son of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, clarified during a press interaction that the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) adheres to the principle of keeping religion separate from politics. While the DMK does not oppose the construction of temples, Udhayanidhi emphasized that such activities should not be carried out on the grounds where a mosque was once present.
