DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin asserted on Friday that leaders within the INDIA bloc need to recognize the BJP's anxiety over potential victories for the opposition alliance, even at the level of a mayor poll in Chandigarh. He emphasized that unity among the INDIA bloc constituents could dislodge the saffron party from power at the Centre. Addressing the 'Democracy will win' conference organized by the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Stalin expressed the importance of the INDIA alliance capturing power at the national level in the pages of future history.
Stalin highlighted the BJP-led Central government's decision to postpone the mayor polls in Chandigarh and the subsequent alliance between the AAP and Congress. He pointed out that the BJP, sensing potential defeat, canceled even a mayor-level election. Stalin urged INDIA alliance leaders to understand the fear of the BJP and utilize the current opportunity to remain united for victory. He emphasized that if the opposition alliance remains united, the BJP can be defeated, and democracy will prevail.
Stalin acknowledged that the BJP is politically insignificant in Tamil Nadu, but emphasized the need to defeat the party in other states across the country. He stressed that the slogan 'democracy will win' alone is not sufficient and called for collective efforts. Stalin praised Thol Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, as a strong and committed leader to the ideology of social justice. He emphasized that the bond between the DMK and VCK goes beyond politics and is deeply rooted in shared ideology.
