Senior BJP spokesman and party leader Sudhanshu Trivedi strongly criticized Indian Overseas Congress Chief Sam Pitroda's remarks on China on Monday as disrespect to the Galwan martyrs.

In response, Trivedi emphasized India's continuous advancements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's direction.

However, he remarked, "There are forces attempting to influence this progress. Sam Pitroda's statement regarding China today has openly revealed the Congress party's alignment with China."

The BJP leader expressed concern over Pitroda's words, stating, "Pitroda’s comments are a significant attack on India's identity, diplomacy, and sovereignty. He claims there is no dispute with China, suggesting that India is adopting an aggressive stance. Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India aims to maintain cordial relations with all countries, but national self-respect, security, and strength are of utmost importance."

Trivedi also reminded that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had previously made similar remarks. "Rahul Gandhi has also stated on several occasions, including during a foreign tour, that China has done well in addressing unemployment."

Trivedi labeled Pitroda's comments as disrespectful to the Galwan martyrs, saying, "Is this not an insult to the martyrs of Galwan? Our soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice there. Yet, despite this, the Congress Overseas Chief speaks in this manner. Such statements are condemnable and a serious affront to the sacrifices made by the Indian Army."

Pitroda, in his interview with IANS, explained that India has had a confrontational approach from the start. "Our approach has always been confrontational, which creates enemies and generates support within the country. We need to change this mindset of viewing China as the enemy from the outset. This isn't just about China, but about how we perceive all nations," he said.

He also downplayed the threat posed by China, adding, "I don’t see what the threat from China is. I believe this issue is often exaggerated, especially since the United States tends to define enemies."

Pitroda concluded by calling for a shift in approach: "It’s time for us all to learn, enhance communication, collaborate, and co-create, rather than sticking to a command-and-control mentality. China is growing, and we need to recognize and respect that."
