Shiv Sena's Integral Role in Ayodhya Temple Consecration: Deep-rooted Ties with Lord Ram Explored by Raut

Describing Thackeray as a figure possessing the strength to confront challenges, Raut drew parallels between Lord Ram's patience and Thackeray's courage, asserting that courage is humanity's most significant blessing.

The installation of Ram Lalla's idol in the Ayodhya temple owed its realization to the pivotal role played by Shiv Sena, which boasts the "oldest and profoundly emotional" connection with Lord Ram, according to Sanjay Raut, a Member of Parliament from the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction. Raut asserted during the Shiv Sena (UBT) conclave that Thackeray epitomizes a "composed warrior," akin to Lord Ram.

Describing Thackeray as a figure possessing the strength to confront challenges, Raut drew parallels between Lord Ram's patience and Thackeray's courage, asserting that courage is humanity's most significant blessing. Raut emphasized that the courage exhibited by Shiv Sainiks was instrumental in the demolition of the Babri mosque, contrasting it with what he perceived as a lack of courage within the BJP.

In a bold claim, Raut contended that without Shiv Sena's existence, the consecration of Lord Ram's idol in the Ayodhya temple would not have transpired. According to him, the courage displayed by Shiv Sena's tigers paved the way for the prime minister to carry out the consecration.

Raut underlined the deeply emotional connection Shiv Sena shares with Lord Ram, asserting that it transcends individual interests or party affiliations. He insisted that the Shiv Sena, with its longstanding association, holds the oldest connection with Lord Ram.

The consecration event, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saw the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla or Balak Ram. However, the political landscape is marred by a bitter exchange between the BJP and the Thackeray-led faction of Shiv Sena, each challenging the other's contributions to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.

The Maharashtra unit of the BJP has raised questions about the contributions of Thackeray, his son Aaditya, and Raut to the temple movement. Simultaneously, the Sena (UBT) staunchly claims credit for its role in bringing down the Babri mosque, further fueling the ongoing discord between the two political entities.
