Sharmila, YSR Telangana Party Leader, Joins Congress, Fulfilling Her Father's Dream of Rahul as PM

She made the announcement of the merger of her YSR Telangana Congress with the Congress during a ceremony in the presence of party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi.

Y S Sharmila, daughter of the former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and founder of YSR Telangana Party, has officially joined the Congress. She made the announcement of the merger of her YSR Telangana Congress with the Congress during a ceremony in the presence of party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi.

Sharmila expressed her admiration for the Congress, calling it the largest and "most secular" party in the country. She commended the party for its unwavering service to all communities and its ability to unite people from diverse sections.

"I am very happy to be merging the YSR Telangana party with the Congress. It gives me immense joy that the YSR Telangana party is going to be a part of the Indian National Congress from today onwards," she said.
