Having recently received his 8th conviction in a case involving fake arms licenses, Ansari, currently incarcerated in Banda jail, is grappling with a litany of charges—ranging from murder to extortion—with at least 65 cases pending against him.

According to Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar, the state government's concerted efforts, including aggressive legal battles and law enforcement measures, have effectively targeted not only Ansari but his entire criminal syndicate. Close to 300 members of his gang and affiliates are embroiled in legal proceedings, with 175 licensed arms holders also under scrutiny. Notably, five gang members have met their demise in police encounters, underscoring a steadfast stance against organized crime.

Additionally, illicit contracts, tenders, and businesses worth Rs 215 crore have been shuttered, dealing a significant blow to the illicit operations of Ansari and his associates.
