In the aftermath of the Mahagathbandhan government's collapse in Bihar, the Z-plus security cover previously granted to former Deputy Chief Minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has been revoked by the new administration on Wednesday. As per a notification issued by the state home department, Yadav will now receive security coverage equivalent to that provided to Bihar ministers.
The Nitish Kumar-led government has granted Z-plus security cover to the newly appointed Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, as stated in the notification. Additionally, BJP's Lok Sabha MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy has also been accorded Z-plus security cover.
This decision follows a comprehensive review of the threat levels associated with various VIP protectees in the state, as mentioned in the notification. Z-plus security cover is considered the highest level of security provided by the government.
Under the Z-plus security cover, a specialized team of trained personnel armed with sophisticated firearms is designated to guard the VIP in question.
