On Friday, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra harshly condemned the Congress party for repeatedly asking questions regarding the supposed damages and losses of Rafale fighter aircraft by Pakistan during the Operation Sindoor standoff.
He accused that the top leadership of the Congress has started taking sides with the vision of Pakistan and repeating its line.
Addressing a press conference today, Patra underscored that Congress says that they are with the country but their actions refuse to agree. In his opinion, since the beginning of the operation itself, Congress has been questioning the courage and operational capability of India's armed forces.
Patra underscored the fact that India effectively demolished nine terror camps and 11 Pakistani air bases in the strikes, backed by satellite imagery as evidence. But he noted, the Congress will not believe these facts and instead goes by Pakistani propaganda.
"If a Rafale had crashed, there would be wreckage and evidence. There is nothing," Patra said, accusing Congress of circulating unfounded skepticism.
The BJP chief also criticized senior Congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Revanth Reddy for making statements that demoralize the country's armed forces.
"They never were with the country or its army. They've been doubting since day one how many Indian aircraft got lost to Pakistan, even when the DGMO laid out confirmed facts," Patra added.
He also took the communications head of Congress Jairam Ramesh — who is a close Gandhi family aide, he called him — by surprise for equating Pahalgam terrorists with all-party delegation members who are currently carrying out international outreach.
BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya earlier denounced Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for becoming the Congress chorus after asking, "how many Rafales were shot down by Pakistan?"
Rather than supporting our military forces, Congress leaders seem to be dependent on WhatsApp forwards, social media rumors, or just speculations. They sound like Pakistan's PR agents rather than India's opposition," Malviya said.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy had further fueled controversy by organizing a rally on Thursday, asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tell the nation how many fighter jets were attacked in Pakistani raids.
