Rajya Sabha Biennial Elections for 56 Seats Scheduled on February 27

The states from which members are retiring and where the elections will be held include Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Rajasthan. 

The Election Commission announced on Monday that biennial elections to fill 56 seats across 15 states in the Rajya Sabha will take place on February 27. A total of 50 members will retire on April 2, with an additional six members retiring on April 3.

The states from which members are retiring and where the elections will be held include Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Rajasthan.

The elections will play a crucial role in determining the composition of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament, and will impact the balance of power in legislative decision-making.
