Rajnath to Release Commemorative Coin on Karunanidhi's Centenary

The ceremony will be in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin, also president of the ruling DMK and son of Karunanidhi. A battery of state ministers and other dignitaries is slated to attend the event at Kalaivanar Arangam.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to release a Rs 100-commemorative coin in honor of the centenary of late DMK president M Karunanidhi. The coin, named "Muthamizh Arignar Kalaignar Centenary Commemorative Coin," will be released during a function in Chennai.

The ceremony will be in the presence of Chief Minister M K Stalin, also president of the ruling DMK and son of Karunanidhi. A battery of state ministers and other dignitaries is slated to attend the event at Kalaivanar Arangam.

Karunanidhi was an astute leader of the Dravidian movement. He had been chief minister five times and was nearly five-decades-long leader of the DMK until his demise in 2018.
