Rajasthan Congress Manifesto: Includes Caste Census, MSP Legislation, and Minority Reservation

The Congress party has unveiled its comprehensive manifesto for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, outlining significant promises and commitments if they come into power. Some of the key highlights from the manifesto released by party president Mallikarjun Kharge are as follows:

1. Caste Census: The Congress pledges to conduct a comprehensive caste census, aiming to provide reservations based on population demographics.

2. MSP Law for Farmers: Ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers aligned with the recommendations of the Swaminathan Committee.

3. Old Pension Scheme Continuation: Introducing a law to sustain the Old Pension Scheme.

4. Enhancement in Chiranjeevi Insurance: Increasing the Chiranjeevi insurance amount from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

5. Employment Generation: Committing to providing government jobs to four lakh youth and generating employment for 10 lakh others. Also, creating a new cadre of government jobs at the Panchayat level.

6. Education Initiatives: Making education up to 12th grade free in private educational institutions by implementing the Right to Education (RTE) law in the state. Extending MNREGA and Indira Gandhi Urban Employment to 150 days.

7. Financial Support for Traders: Launching the Merchant Credit Card Scheme to offer interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh to small traders and shopkeepers.

8. Employee Welfare: Offering a fourth pay scale series to government employees along with other benefits.

9. Infrastructure Development: Connecting villages and hamlets with populations up to 100 through better road networks. Deploying security guards in villages and urban wards.

10. Right to Housing Law: Introducing a law to ensure housing for all.

Kharge emphasized the commitment to implementing all the manifesto points while criticizing the BJP for unfulfilled promises, particularly regarding job creation and neglecting farmers' needs.

He reiterated his stance against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling him the "head of liars," and emphasized the Congress's track record of delivering on its promises.
