Sitaram Yechury of CPI(M) underscored the need to safeguard democracy from those currently in power. Holding the BJP accountable for the security breach incident in Parliament, he called for a collective effort to protect democratic values.

The suspension of 146 MPs from the Winter Session arose from their insistence on a detailed statement from the Home Minister regarding the security breach on December 13. During the Zero Hour proceedings, two individuals jumped from the visitor's gallery of Lok Sabha, simultaneously releasing yellow smoke. Delhi Police initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of six individuals in connection with the incident.
