Political Turmoil Unveiled: Accusations Fly as Shivakumar Brothers Point Finger at Kumaraswamy for Prajwal Revanna's Video Release

Suresh, the Bengaluru Rural MP, asserted that Kumaraswamy and some BJP figures were responsible for the circulation of the pen drive containing footage of the alleged abuse in Hassan. Addressing the media at his Sadashivanagar residence, he claimed, "Kumaraswamy and certain leaders were aware of Prajwal Revanna's pen drive before anyone else. They are attempting to shift the blame onto Shivakumar to protect themselves."

The controversy surrounding the release of videos depicting the sexual abuse of women allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna, a JD(S) sitting MP and the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, took a contentious turn. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Bengaluru Rural MP Suresh accused certain BJP leaders and former CM HD Kumaraswamy of orchestrating the dissemination of the clips.

Responding to Kumaraswamy's accusation that Shivakumar was involved in the release of Prajwal Revanna's pen drive, Suresh remarked, "Kumaraswamy seems incapable of refraining from mentioning Shivakumar's name daily. Had we been behind the release, it would have occurred prior to the first phase of elections in Karnataka. Kumaraswamy and BJP leaders were the initial recipients of this information. Kumaraswamy's inconsistent statements hold little weight; what truly matters is justice for the victims."

Regarding BJP leader Devaraje Gowda implicating Deputy CM Shivakumar, Suresh suggested, "He is safeguarding his political career. The incident unfolded in Hassan, involving local leaders. Both Kumaraswamy and BJP figures are implicated. Their conflicting statements, made by their family members, only serve to muddy the waters."

In response, Shivakumar, speaking from Yadgir, urged Kumaraswamy and BJP leaders to visit the victims of the alleged sexual abuse in Hassan if they genuinely respect women. At a helipad press briefing, he stated, "Kumaraswamy and BJP leaders frequently tout their support for women's rights. If they truly honor women, they should demonstrate solidarity with the victims by visiting them."

Asked about Kumaraswamy's allegation against him regarding the pen drive incident, Shivakumar retorted, "Devaraje Gowda had discussed this matter with Kumaraswamy and corresponded with BJP leaders. We have no need for such petty politicking. I will address this matter further at a later time."
