Postponement of Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Due to Concurrent Lok Sabha Elections

The makers of "Emergency," in which Kangana Ranaut is in the title role, have announced that the film's release is now delayed because of the Lok Sabha Elections.

The studio behind the upcoming political drama, Manikarnika Films Production, took to its official social media platform to convey the news late Wednesday evening and thanked everyone for the overwhelming support for Kangana Ranaut.
 

Citing Ranaut's promise of serving the country and looking forward to national duties, the studio said the release date of "Emergency" has been revised.

While a new release date of "Emergency" will be announced shortly, the film has already been delayed multiple times; it was first scheduled to be released on November 24, 2023.

"Emergency" talks about a critical juncture in the political history of India, in which Ranaut stars as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Joining her in the ensemble cast are Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik.
