PM Modi's Spiritual Retreat: Meditating at Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari

He will go to the Rock Memorial, where he will meditate deeply like Swami Vivekananda. This place is historic, for it was here that Swami Vivekananda got the vision of Bharat Mata, after which his life changed forever. Just as Sarnath is important to Gautam Buddha, so this rock is to Swami Vivekananda, who, after meditating here for three days, had a vision of a prosperous India.

After the hot and hectic campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to retreat to the serene shores of Kanyakumari for three days of meditation. To start soon, his retreat will end on June 1.

In meditating here, PM Modi is reiterating his commitment to making Swami Ji's vision of a developed India a reality.

According to legend, Goddess Parvati too came to this place and stood on one foot, waiting for Lord Shiva to arrive.

This journey to Kanyakumari bears resemblance to PM Modi's penchant for spiritual retreats after the election frenzy dies down. In 2019, before the results of the Lok Sabha elections, he made a similar trip to Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. He camped in a cave at the height of 11,700 feet in the Himalayas, where he meditated through the night after the noise of the campaign trail.
