'Adversaries of Lord Ram have never found lasting peace': Yogi Adityanath targets Cong, SP

Addressing a public meeting in Gorakhpur, Adityanath attacked the Congress for calling the construction of the Ram temple a wrong message to the world and the SP for calling the temple inconsequential. He reminded the people about the contributions of the Ram devotees, mentioning the international airport named after Maharishi Valmiki and other tributes in Ayodhya and Prayagraj.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Tuesday addressed a public meeting, targeting the Congress and Samajwadi Party leaders over their stand on the Ram temple in Ayodhya. He said that whoever went against Lord Ram's legacy had to face turmoil in history and only a Ram devotee could become a ruler in Delhi. Adityanath attacked the Congress and SP for their "appeasement politics" and said the people would rout them.

“Congress says the construction of the temple has sent a wrong message globally and should not have been built, whereas the Samajwadi Party dismisses the temple as useless. The leaders of both parties seem to have lost their minds.” “The Ram Bhakts (devotees) have built an international airport named after Maharishi Valmiki in Ayodhya, a waiting room named after Shri Ram’s friend Nishadraj, and a restaurant named after Mata Shabari. They have also installed a 56-foot statue in honour of Nishadraj in Prayagraj,” he pointed out, stressing that no follower of Nishadraj can align with the traitors of Ram.

Adityanath said that whoever opposed Lord Ram was finished and that India progressed because of the blessings of Lord Ram. He said that the Ram devotees played a part in the country's development, right from infrastructural development to medical and educational developments.

“His blessings are focused on progress and development. Today, devotees of Lord Ram are working towards the nation’s development, from expanding roads from two lanes to 12 lanes, building AIIMS, medical colleges, IITs, IIMs, and airports to providing tap water to every household and promoting industrialisation,” he added.

Adityanath also tried to differentiate between Ram 'drohis' (traitors) and Ram Bhakts, saying the Ram temple represented a symbol and that it represented the faith of Indians, which would not falter.

“The Ram temple symbolizes India’s enduring faith,” he added.

Promising more welfare measures, Adityanath announced Ayushman cards for people above 70 if his government came to power again. He said that the Congress pushed leaders who followed Lord Ram, like Veer Bahadur Singh, out of the chief minister's post.

“The Congress party had removed late Veer Bahadur Singh from the chief minister’s post because of his devotion to Lord Ram and his role in opening the lock of the Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he claimed.

Continuing his attack, Adityanath blamed the previous SP and Congress regimes for various ills afflicting Uttar Pradesh, like poverty, farmer distress, and terrorism. On the other hand, he credited PM Modi's leadership for checking terrorism and for raising the status of India at the international level.

Escalating his attack, Adityanath said, “During the SP’s rule in the state and the Congress’ rule at the Centre, the poor suffered from hunger, farmers committed suicide, youth migrated for jobs, and daughters and businessmen were unsafe. There was a lack of housing and water provisions for the poor, and innocent children died of diseases like encephalitis.” “Terrorist incidents were rampant, with attacks on the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Sankatmochan temple in Varanasi occurring during the SP government and bombings in Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad happening under the Congress rule,” he added.

“However, under PM Modi’s leadership, terrorism and Naxalism have been eradicated from the country, while India’s global respect has increased manifold,” he said.

Addressing a public meeting in Mirzapur, Adityanath talked about the development in the region, including the establishment of a university and infrastructural projects like ropeways and waterway connections.

“Earlier, the local youth used to leave Mirzapur to pursue their education. Even people like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national general secretary Arun Singh had to study outside Mirzapur. Despite the lack of resources, they persevered. However, Mirzapur now boasts of its university, allowing residents to invite their relatives to receive a quality education (here),” said Adityanath.

He wound up by exuding confidence in the prospect of the BJP during the upcoming election, reiterating the commitment toward furthering welfare and development for the state of Uttar Pradesh.
