PM Modi's Delhi Parivartan Yatra Rescheduled Following National Mourning for Dr. Singh

Dr Singh, the economist of much reputation and India's 14th Prime Minister, died at the end of Thursday night at AIIMS in New Delhi at the age of 92. The mourning period is from now until January 1, 2025, and several government events have been rescheduled as a mark of respect.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Parivartan Yatra, which was scheduled for 29 December in Rohini, Delhi, has been rescheduled in view of the seven-day national mourning announced to pay respect to the legacy of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had planned to kickstart its campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections with the Prime Minister's Rohini rally, which has now been rescheduled for January 5, 2025.

According to the top sources associated with the party, the Prime Minister is expected to make significant announcements for the national Capital during the rally.

Additionally, another major rally is scheduled for January 3, 2025.

The new Metro line foundation stone-laying was to be laid by PM Modi, who was to address a gathering at Japanese Park in Rohini on December 29, as part of the original plan.
The new dates for the foundation stone-laying ceremony are yet to be confirmed.

The Election Commission of India has yet not announced the dates for the 70-member Delhi Assembly polls, though they will take place in February next year as the current Assembly's term is set to end on February 23, 2025.

The Aam Aadmi Party, led by the party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, is looking to secure a third consecutive term after its comprehensive wins in 2015 and 2020. In 2015, it had secured 67 seats, and in 2020, it had managed to retain 63 seats in the Delhi Assembly.
