In a bold challenge to the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning on Friday, asserting that the Indian populace would vehemently oppose any attempt to reinstate Article 370.
Addressing a political rally in Udhampur, PM Modi criticized opposition parties for instilling fear by propagating that the removal of Article 370 would lead to chaos and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir. He declared, "In pursuit of power, these parties erected a barrier of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. With your support, we have dismantled that barrier and buried the remnants deep beneath the ground."
PM Modi directly challenged the opposition, asserting that any mention of restoring Article 370 would be met with widespread rejection from the people. He emphasized that the public would not even consider supporting such a move.
Earlier in the week, Home Minister Amit Shah echoed similar sentiments during a public rally in Madhya Pradesh, cautioning the Congress against tampering with Article 370. Shah emphasized the integral nature of Kashmir within India and warned against any appeasement politics, stating that the era of such tactics was over.
