Misa Bharti's recent remarks regarding the potential imprisonment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by an INDIA bloc government have stirred up a political maelstrom, drawing sharp criticism from leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), notably its president, JP Nadda.
The BJP's top brass wasted no time in lambasting Misa Bharti for her audacious comments, urging her to introspect on the alleged corruption within her own family before targeting the Prime Minister. JP Nadda spearheaded the BJP's robust rebuttal, attributing Bharti's statement to the purported desperation and frustration of the INDIA bloc in anticipation of bleak prospects in upcoming elections.
"Lalu Yadav is currently out on bail in the fodder scam, while Misa Bharti herself faces corruption charges. Yet, they have the audacity to hurl abuse at PM Modi, who has dedicated over two decades to serving the nation selflessly. This only underscores their peak desperation and frustration," remarked Nadda.
Sudhanshu Trivedi took a sardonic jab at Bharti, suggesting she reflect on the significance of her own name. "Lalu Yadav was imprisoned under the MISA during the Congress regime. He named his daughter 'Misa' in defiance, vowing to dismantle the Congress. Is she now mocking her father's pledge?" queried Trivedi, ridiculing the RJD scion.
Ravi Shankar Prasad condemned Bharti's statement as highly irresponsible and shameful, highlighting the litany of corruption charges faced by her family members. Shehzad Poonawala remarked on the shifting stance of the INDIA bloc, from a platform of affection to one of threats, while reminding Bharti of her father's initial incarceration during the Congress era.
Vinod Tawde, BJP's National General Secretary, decried the Opposition's purportedly low tactics in targeting the Prime Minister. Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, denounced Bharti's remarks as a mockery of democracy, particularly given her family's checkered history with corruption allegations.
Misa Bharti, the RJD nominee from Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency, stood by her statement, asserting that a potential INDIA bloc government would see several BJP leaders, including Narendra Modi, behind bars. The reported remarks by Bharti have added fuel to the already heated political discourse ahead of the elections.
