PM Modi Unveils ₹5,700 Crore Development Projects in Bihar; CM Nitish Kumar Calls It Transformational

The main function was organized at Jasoli, where in the chair of several major leaders, a public meeting was organized with the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, and senior Union Ministers.

In the course of his speech during the rally, CM Nitish Kumar pointed out that a number of high-value initiatives were being initiated or opened, covering a broad spectrum of areas ranging from railways and infrastructure to sanitation and energy. Two new train services were part of the key announcements.

“The Central Government has done a lot of work for Bihar. The projects inaugurated today will give a big boost to the state’s development,” said the Chief Minister, acknowledging the Centre’s role in Bihar’s progress.

He also praised Prime Minister Modi's rule, saying, "Earlier, people couldn't even venture out of their houses in the evenings. Bihar is developing today. We have worked hard to develop women and provided them with reservations. The Centre's move to hold a caste-based census is a historical one. Bihar will not be behind now."

Prior to the event, PM Modi arrived in Bihar via Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh and took part in a roadshow, riding an open-top jeep towards the event venue.

Thousands of citizens lined the roads, welcoming him with shouts of "Modi Zindabad" and "Welcome Modi Ji," showering him with flowers and taking the procession on their mobile phones. The Prime Minister greeted the cheers with waves and smiles.

In on-stage felicitations, BJP state unit president Dilip Jaiswal welcomed Modi with a floral garland and ceremonial shawl. Jaiswal was over the moon, having told a reporter, "The moment I was waiting for has come."

This is PM Modi's fifth Bihar visit in 2025, highlighting not just the state's strategic significance to the NDA alliance but also the government's focus on development outreach ahead of the Assembly polls.

These regular infrastructure announcements are being seen by all as the ruling alliance's reaction to opposition attacks on government performance and law and order issues in the state.
