Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took charge as prime minister in his third term and immediately authorized the release of the 17th installment of the 'PM Kisan Nidhi' funds, totaling nearly Rs 20,000 crore, aimed at benefiting approximately 9.3 crore farmers.
After signing the document, PM Modi remarked, “Ours is a government fully committed to 'kisan kalyan' (farmers' welfare). It is, therefore, fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to it. We want to keep working even more for farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come."
Upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s Office in South Block, PM Modi received a warm reception from the staff, who lined up along the entrance and corridor leading to his office. PM Modi greeted them with a respectful 'namaste' and expressed his gratitude throughout his walk.
Modi was officially sworn in as Prime Minister on Sunday, marking the beginning of his historic third term. He now leads a Union Council of Ministers comprising 72 members, including 30 Cabinet Ministers, five Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State. The oath of office was administered by President Droupadi Murmu. Following the ceremony, PM Modi shared on X that he is eager to serve 140 crore Indians and collaborate with the Council of Ministers to elevate India's progress. PM Modi joins Jawaharlal Nehru as the only Prime Minister to serve three consecutive terms.
