In a scathing rebuke directed at the Congress-led government in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced his concerns over the prevalent corruption and deteriorating law and order situation in the desert state during an election rally in Udaipur. Asserting a promise for change, Modi warned corrupt individuals, stating that they will not escape scrutiny once the BJP regains power in Rajasthan.
Accusing the Congress of sympathizing with terrorists, the Prime Minister opened his speech by highlighting the alleged ban on Hindu festivals like Ram Navami and Kanwar Yatra processions. He criticized the government for permitting rallies by the alleged terrorist outfit PFI, labeling it a demonstration of the politics of appeasement.
Modi championed the 'Vocal for Local' campaign, urging citizens in Udaipur to support local businesses and purchase indigenous products, particularly during the festive season. He emphasized the significance of endorsing local goods as a means to boost the regional economy.
Criticizing the Congress government's track record, Modi expressed concern over the reported migration of impoverished individuals from various parts of Rajasthan. He asserted that this trend would escalate if the Congress retained power. The impending Rajasthan Assembly elections on November 25 prompted Modi to underscore the need for a change in leadership.
While refraining from directly naming state minister Shanti Dhariwal, the Prime Minister condemned Dhariwal's statement in the Assembly, where he allegedly trivialized crimes against women. Modi argued that such remarks not only insulted the women of Rajasthan but also disparaged the men who stood in solidarity with their female counterparts.
Addressing the issue of law and order, Modi painted a grim picture of the current situation, asserting that women and girls felt unsafe venturing outside. He pledged a safe environment for every sister and daughter under the rule of the BJP, vowing to address and rectify the atrocities against women.
Accusing the Congress government of prioritizing political power over public welfare, Modi claimed that the past five years were marked by a relentless pursuit of the chair. He lamented the neglect of public issues and the failure to fulfill promises, particularly regarding the welfare of the poor, Dalits, and marginalized communities.
Highlighting the Congress's alleged fiscal mismanagement, Modi criticized the party for making false promises and burdening the middle class with exorbitant prices of petrol and diesel. He refuted the Congress's commitment to free electricity, asserting that the party instead imposed hefty charges under the pretext of outstanding bills.
Promising stringent action against corruption, Modi vowed to hold every corrupt individual accountable, regardless of their status. He expressed his commitment to open every 'red diary' exposing Congress's corruption once the BJP assumed power.
Touching upon the 'paper leak' mafia, Modi accused the Congress of promoting such illicit practices for financial gain. He emphasized the BJP's commitment to conducting examinations transparently and providing opportunities for the youth in Rajasthan.
In closing, the Prime Minister reiterated his 'Local for Vocal' campaign, questioning why the Rajasthan Chief Minister did not endorse it. Modi encouraged everyone to support local businesses, portraying it as an opportunity to liberate the people from the purported misrule of the Congress.
