Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal and spiritual side seems to have deeply impressed AI researcher and podcaster Lex Fridman. As anticipation builds for their three-hour-long discussion, PM Modi took to social media to share details about the conversation.
It was actually an interesting chat with @lexfridman, ranging from my childhood to the Himalayas years and public life journey. Do listen in and be part of this conversation!" PM Modi posted, making a statement that the podcast will be out at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Fridman, a man famous for having in-depth conversations with leaders across the world, had previously confessed his admiration for PM Modi. Sharing on platform X, he referred to their conversation as "one of the most powerful conversations" he's ever had, going on to state, "I had an epic 3-hour podcast conversation with @narendramodi, Prime Minister of India. It'll be out tomorrow."
Beyond global affairs, the conversation is expected to provide insights into PM Modi’s views on artificial intelligence, as well as key national initiatives like Make in India and Digital India.
Fridman earlier expressed his eagerness to meet the Indian leader, referring to him as "one of the most fascinating human beings I have ever studied." He emphasized PM Modi's contributions to India's contemporary history as well as being curious about his spiritual and personal routines.
Discussing further on this point, Fridman mentioned that PM Modi has performed multi-day fasts for religious purposes, something he himself practices. Before meeting him, Fridman announced that he would be fasting for 48-72 hours as a means of introspection and meditation prior to their conversation.
This is a good moment to reflect and to think about how amazingly fortunate I am to be alive, to possess the strange brain that finds so much beauty in the world despite I've seen more and more of the bad sides of human nature. And I guess above all… To think about how fortunate I am to have so much love in my life," he said.
Fridman has had some well-known guests in the past, such as Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. His talk with PM Modi should provide new insights into leadership, technology, and India's role in the world to come.
