PM Modi Condemns Attack on Trump: 'Violence Has No Place in Politics'

PM Modi on Sunday condemned the attack on US Presidential candidate Donald Trump and said, "Violence has no place in politics."

He also condoled and wished him quick recovery, saying, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, those injured and the American people.".

The attack was carried out on Saturday when the former US President was shot at in an election rally in western Pennsylvania, apparently in an attempted assassination, a day before the Republican Party is to officially name him as the presidential candidate.

Anthony Guglielmi, Chief of Communications for the Secret Service said in a statement, "The Secret Service has taken appropriate protective actions, and the former President is safe".

The former US President is "fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility," Trump Communications Director Steven Cheung said.
