Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday vowed to strive for consensus in every decision of his new government, stating that the NDA is a cohesive coalition committed to the 'nation first' doctrine.
After he was unanimously elected by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance for a third term as prime minister, Modi said that in the coming decade, the NDA will concentrate on good governance, development, quality of life, and least possible interference in the lives of the people.
Modi highlighted that mutual trust is fundamental to this alliance, which is committed to 'sarv pantha sambhava' (equality of all sects). He stated, "Historically, this is the strongest coalition government in terms of numbers," affirming the NDA's capability to handle victory with maturity.
Reflecting on the coalition’s strength, Modi said, "Our conduct since June 4 demonstrates our ability to manage success," while criticizing opposition attempts to undermine their victory. "Efforts to cast a 'shadow of defeat' on our triumph have been futile," he remarked at the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting.
Prominent NDA leaders, including N Chandrababu Naidu (TDP), Nitish Kumar (JDU), Eknath Shinde (Shiv Sena), Chirag Paswan (LJP-RV), H D Kumaraswamy (JDS), Ajit Pawar (NCP), Anupriya Patel (Apna Dal-S), and Pawan Kalyan (Jana Sena), along with newly elected Lok Sabha members, attended the meeting. Modi congratulated the victorious leaders and paid tribute to the countless grassroots workers who contributed to the success.
"This is the most successful alliance in the history of our country. It has completed three successful terms and is now entering its fourth. The NDA is not a grouping of parties that have come together to get power, it is committed to the principle of 'nation first'," he reiterated.
Modi contrasted this with the INDI alliance, which he said, formed solely for the Lok Sabha elections, reflecting a power-hungry nature.
For me the NDA stands for New India, Developed India, Aspirational India," he declared. "Our 10 years were just a trailer. We will work much harder and faster for the development of our country. People know that we will deliver," Modi assured.
He expressed a desire for more parliamentary debates and hoped opposition MPs would contribute to nation-building. Taking a jab at Congress, he noted their inability to surpass 100 seats, with their combined tally over the last three elections being less than the BJP's current count.
Modi highlighted the NDA's recent successes, including a breakthrough victory in Kerala, strong performances in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, and a historic win in Andhra Pradesh. He also pointed to the growing vote share in Tamil Nadu as an indicator of future successes.
"In the last 10 years, we worked to make the country touch new heights of success. A common thing that exists amongst all the leadership pillars of NDA is Good Governance," he said.
"Whenever given the chance to serve, each and every leader of the NDA has ensured Good Governance across Bharat. The NDA has become synonymous with Good Governance,"Modi concluded.
