Speaking at a public rally in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, PM Modi accused the DMK of recklessly pursuing recognition on matters of national significance while simultaneously denigrating the achievements of Indian scientists and pandering to China.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the ruling party in Tamil Nadu, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), for what he described as their audacious attempt to claim credit for the upcoming establishment of the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO) second spaceport in Kulasekarapattinam district.

Speaking at a public rally in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, PM Modi accused the DMK of recklessly pursuing recognition on matters of national significance while simultaneously denigrating the achievements of Indian scientists and pandering to China.

“DMK’s penchant for taking credit is not new. They paste their own posters on Central government’s scheme. This time, they have crossed all the limits. They pasted stickers of China on ISRO advertisements for taking credit on launch of second facility,” remarked PM Modi.

DMK minister Anitha R Radhakrishnan sparked outrage by sharing a poster ahead of ISRO's second facility launch featuring a Chinese missile alongside images of Chief Minister Stalin and the Prime Minister.

PM Modi inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony for ISRO's second spaceport on the same day. Spanning an area of 2,200 acres, this new facility is anticipated to commence operations within two years, bolstering ISRO's launch capabilities.

Expressing disdain for the DMK's alleged exploitation of taxpayers' funds for political gains, PM Modi stated, “First they are not ready to accept ISRO’s achievements and feel happy about it. Rather than sharing it with the world, they insulted our scientists and space sector engineers with the money garnered from taxpayers.”

Additionally, PM Modi criticized the DMK's stance on the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir, highlighting their decision to boycott the event in Parliament as indicative of their disregard for the beliefs of the majority.

“The nation celebrated the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir. Parliament passed a resolution to this effect but the DMK lawmakers walked out of the House. This behavior shows their deep dislike for majoritarian’s beliefs,” said PM Modi.
