The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday celebrated its 42nd foundation day. The BJP was founded on April 6, 1980, by former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the BJP workers in New Delhi. In his speech, the prime minister said that the people of India trust the BJP and it has been proved after the party retained power in four states that went to assembly polls recently. 1. The Prime Minister opened his address by saying that “today is the fifth day of Navratri, we worship Maa Skandamata today. We have seen her seated on a Lotus throne, while holding a Lotus flower in both hands. I wish that her blessings continue to be bestowed upon every citizen and worker of the BJP”.
2. In his address, PM Modi took a jibe at the opposition over dynastic politics. He said, we work in the interest of the nation whereas some political parties at central and regional level work in the interest of their families.
