The bureaucrats shared their concerns during a nearly four-hour-long meeting with PM Modi that was held at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, news agency PTI reported. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister PK Mishra and Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba also attended this meeting along with other top bureaucrats of the Union government.

However, Pawar also added that he is ready to help in uniting the Opposition. Talking to media persons in Kolhapur, Pawar said that some of his party’s youth wing workers recently passed a resolution to make him the chairperson of UPA, but he has zero interest in it.

Those who took oath are Pabitra Margherita and Rwngwra Narzary from Assam, Jebi Mather Hisham, Sandosh Kumar and A. Rahim from Kerala and S. Phangnon Konyak from Nagaland. BJP's Konyak, who was elected unopposed to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Nagaland, who became the first woman from the state to get a berth in the Parliament's Upper House. Konyak is also president of Nagaland BJP women wing.
After Punjab staking claim over Chandigarh, Haryana convenes assembly session

Though the reason for calling the session has not been officially announced, officials admit it is to stake claim for Chandigarh, the joint capital of both states. A cabinet meeting was held on Sunday under the Chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. It was decided in the meeting that a special session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha will be called on April 5 at 11 a.m., an official statement said.

According to the Union Home Ministry's data, a total of 1,41,815 new works/projects have been taken up under various sectors/schemes in the UT since 2019. Funds amounting to Rs 27,274 crores have been provided for the completion of these projects. "Keeping the impending assembly election in the UT of J&K in mind once the delimitation commission completes the process, the Centre has directed the UT administration to speed up the completion of the projects before the stipulated time," a senior official said.
CBI to bring Anil Deshmukh, others to Delhi in Rs 100 cr extortion case

Sources close to the development said that all the four accused persons will be brought to Delhi for further investigation. Deshmukh, Palande and Shinde were in the custody of a special ED court, while Vaze was in the custody of NIA court. Both the courts permitted that their custody be taken over by the CBI.
Shashi Tharoor moves Private Members Bill to repeal UAPA

The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Repeal Bill, 2022 seeks to annul the UAPA, 1967. Claiming that the UAPA has become the tool of abuse for the state, Tharoor said that 66 per cent of arrests under it do not involve any violence at all while the conviction rate under this Act is merely 2.4 per cent.
