Addressing a press conference here, Congress spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh said, "The BJP has brought about a doom with 7s -- retail Inflation is at 7.01 per cent, unemployment is at 7.8 per cent and Rupee has depreciated 7 per cent in the last six months vs the US dollar. While these are worrying data points, the BJP government is in deep slumber."
PM Modi to inaugurate Bundelkhand expressway on July 16

The expressway, which stretches between Chitrakoot and Etawah, has been completed eight months ahead of schedule. While laying the foundation stone in February 2020, Prime Minister Modi had said that the project "will create thousands of jobs and connect the common people with facilities available in bigger cities".

Shiv Sena urges to Governor to avoid Shinde cabinet expansion

Shiv Sena spokesperson and MP Sanjay Raut said that the party has sent a letter to the Raj Bhavan on this count. In the communication to the Governor, ex-minister and Sena General Secretary Subhash Desai has drawn attention to the party's writ petitions pending before the apex court. Desai pointed out that even "the question of legality of the decision to appoint Eknath Shinde as the Chief Minister is also sub-judice" before the top court.
Chadha's appointment as Punjab advisory panel challenged in HC

The petition, filed by advocate Jagmohan Singh Bhatti, contended that the appointment was illegal, arbitrary and in exercise of "non-existent" laws of the Central and state governments. It also argued that the appointment of Chadha was in violation of the Constitution as he is an "outsider and not a part of the state Legislative Assembly".
EPS' interim General Secretary post invalid, I must be made leader: Sasikala

Sasikala said that the cadres of the AIADMK must give a fitting response to EPS for having assumed the office of the interim General Secretary by violating party rules. She also said that he does not have any authority to expel O. Panneerselvam (OPS) when his own post is invalid.
ED may arrest Satyendar Jain's wife

Her husband was arrested by the ED and is currently lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. The ED has already sent a summon to Poonam Jain to join the investigation on July 14. Satyendar Jain was placed under arrest on May 30 by the ED under Section 19 of the PMLA. On July 1, the ED arrested Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain -- two associates of the Delhi Health Minister.

Bengal BJP left red-faced as 2 MPs, 3 MLAs skip meeting with Draupadi Murmu

Out of the 68 BJP legislators who were asked to attend the meeting with Murmu, 65 were present. Of the three MLAs who skipped the meeting, two were from North Bengal, namely Niraj Zimba Singh from Darjeeling and Bishnu Prasad Sharma from Kurseong. The third absentee legislator was Mukut Mani Adhikari from Ranaghat (South) Assembly constituency in Nadia district.
