Sonia Gandhi had problem while speaking during ED grilling

Sources said that Sonia Gandhi is suffering post Covid complications and she had problems while speaking. Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi had told ED officials that her mother doesn't keep well, and she was looking after her medicines. She said that she would assist her mother due to her poor health. She had requested the officials to let her be present in the ED office during her questioning which was accepted.
Trinamool to abstain from voting in Vice Presidential poll

The decision was taken on Thursday afternoon at a meeting chaired by party supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, which was attended by 33 out of the 35 Trinamool MPs. "Each member was given the opportunity to present his/her views in front of the Chief Minister. Thereafter, 85 per cent of the MPs present at the meeting voiced in favour of abstaining from voting in the Vice Presidential poll," Trinamool's national General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee told mediapersons after the meeting.

The chief minister's stand on the issue of Presidential Polls had been quite shifty since the beginning. She was the one to initiate the meeting of the opposition parties to field a united opposition candidate in the Presidential polls. Finally, the opposition zeroed in on Yashwant Sinha, who had to resign from Trinamool Congress's national vice- president post to contest the polls.
National Herald case: ED summons Sonia again on July 25

After the first round of interrogation, the Congress interim president left for lunch break with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, when the ED sent her fresh summons calling her again. Earlier in the day, Sonia reached the ED's headquarters at around 12.10 p.m and was questioned by a team of additional director Monika Sharma.

Herald case: Priyanka seeks ED's permission to assist ailing Sonia

According to sources, Priyanka told the ED officials that since her mother does not keep well, she takes care of the medicines and hence her presence is required. She requested the ED officials to allow her to be present at the questioning room. Considering the Congress president's health condition, the ED has agreed to let Priyanka be around her mother but in a separate room.
Congress MPs move adjournment notices in RS, LS over ED 'misuse'

In Lok Sabha, the notice was given by Gaurav Gogoi and Manickam Tagore. Congress MP K.C. Venugopal gave a suspension of business notice in the Rajya Sabha, citing the "misuse of central agencies in the country which includes the ED, CBI and I-T department to target political leaders by the ruling party." In a joint move, the floor leaders of the opposition will also meet to chalk out an agenda regarding the session.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann admitted to Delhi hospital

The CM was admitted for treatment in Delhi's Apollo Hospital on Wednesday after a complaint of stomach pain. As per the information, Mann was diagnosed with an infection. A source told IANS that he was being treated under a team of multi doctors. The CM has been admitted to a private ward in the hospital and his health condition is normal.
Sonia facing speech issues, may seek some relief: Sources

The source said that Sonia Gandhi faces some problems while speaking due to post-Covid issues. "She has a problem due to the disease. We will see how to proceed further," said the source. Due to her health issues, Sonia Gandhi was unable to join the probe earlier and had sought postponements earlier. As per the scheduled date, she has to appear before the ED on Thursday.
