Kavita Krishnan quits CPI-MLL over some 'troubling political questions'
Krishnan was a politburo member of the Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist-Liberation and had been a member of its Central Committee for over two decades. 5 JD-U MLAs merge with BJP in Manipur
Manipur assembly Secretary K. Meghajit Singh said Speaker Thokchom Satyabrata Singh has accepted the merger of the five JD-U MLAs to the legislature party of BJP in the Manipur Assembly under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution. The five legislators who joined BJP are Khumukcham Joykisan Singh (Thangmeiband), Ngursanglur Sanate (Tipaimukh), Md. Achab Uddin (Jiribam), Thangjam Arunkumar (Wangkhei) and L.M. BJP's Giriraj Singh demands survey of mosques, madrasas in Bihar
Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Union Minister, Giriraj Singh has demanded a survey of madrasas and mosques in Bihar similar to that in Uttar Pradesh. "We demanded from the Nitish Kumar government to conduct survey on the madrasas and mosques of Bihar, especially in Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region. We must have data about who are running madrasas and mosques in these regions and who are staying in them," Singh said.

Situation normal in J&K on Geelani's first death anniversary
