PM Modi to visit poll-bound K'taka thrice in March, Oppn worried
According to party sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit poll-bound Karnataka thrice this month. PM Modi has made five visits to Karnataka this year and participated in various programmes, including roadshows and public rallies. He has also toured different parts of the state covering all regions.
Tripura CM Manik Saha wins from Bordowali seat
Manik Saha was first elected to the state Assembly in the bypoll held in June last year by defeating Ashish Kumar Saha with a margin of 6,104 votes. The 70-year-old BJP leader, who was also the state unit chief of the BJP and Rajya Sabha member for a brief period, took oath as the Chief Minister in last year's May 15, a day after former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb resigned from the top post following the direction of the BJP's central leaders.
Meghalaya: Trinamool's Mukul Sangma faces stiff battle
Sangma is trailing by a huge margin in the other seat of Tikrikilla and is set to lose. After six rounds of counting of votes in Tikrikilla, he is trailing by over 5,000 from the nearest candidate Jimmy Sangma of NPP. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is leading by more than 3,000 in South Tura constituency.
Meghalaya results: NPP surges ahead, BJP losing leads; Trinamool & Cong trailing
As per the latest trend, NPP is leading in 24 seats out of the 60 Assembly constituencies, polls for which were held on February 27. The opposition parties, Congress and Trinamool Congress are trailing by a huge margin to NPP. Both parties are now leading in five seats each. The BJP, which looked to cross double digits in the early trends in counting, has lost leads in a few seats. The party is now leading in just five seats. They won two seats in the last Assembly election.
NDPP-BJP alliance heading towards victory in Nagaland
As per ECI, NDPP is leading in 24 seats with one victory and it's ally BJP is leading in 23 seats with two wins in the 60-member Assembly where election was conducted in 59 seats. Congress is reduced to two seats and is way behind NCP which is leading in five seats. LJP(RV) headed by Chirag Paswan is leading on three seats.
DMK front candidate cruising for easy victory in Erode East
After the third round of counting was over, Elangovan was leading by a margin of 15,627 votes over his nearest rival, K.S. Thennarasu of the AIADMK. While the Congress candidate got 23,902 votes, the AIADMK candidate received 8,275 votes. The NTK candidate Megna Navaneetan could secure 514 votes while the DMDK candidate, S. Anand was able to get 90 votes only.
Keeping all options open, says NPP leader on BJP alliance
Meanwhile, the BJP, as per the latest trends, is currently leading in eight seats compared to the two the party won in the last Assembly polls. In this scenario, the chances of the NPP joining hands with the BJP to form the next government is quite high. Commenting on this, NPP leader Saidul Khan said: "We are having a close watch on the results. We have been keeping all options open."
BJP ahead of CPI(M), Congress after 2nd round of counting in Tripura
BJP candidates are leading in 28 seats including Bordowali, Ramnagar, Khayerpur, Majlishpur, Badarghat, Mohanpur, Nalchar and Bishalgarh. A candidate of BJP ally Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) is leading in Jolaibari. The CPI(M)-led Left Front candidates are leading in 13 seats including Pratapgarh, Barjala, Bamutia, Belonia, Hrishamukh, Sabroom, Bagabassa, Sonamura.
Sagardighi bypoll: Congress consolidates lead margin further after 3rd round
BJP's Dilip Saha is in the third position. In terms of percentage, the Congress candidate has secured 46 per cent of the votes counted till then, followed by Trinamool Congress at 38 per cent and BJP at 12 per cent. According to election observers, till the third round, counting has been completed in those pockets under Sagardighi Assembly constituency which have a mixed population of majority and minority voters.
Meghalaya polls: NPP leading in 23 seats
Compared to the two seats they won in the 2018 elections, the BJP is ahead in almost 10 seats, according to the early trends in counting. While the Trinamool Congress is leading in 10 seats, the Congress party, which was the single largest party in Meghalaya in the last Assembly election, is trailing. The grand-old party is leading in only nine seats.
