Election Commission to announce schedule for Karnataka Assembly poll today
The state has 224 Assembly seats. Notably, the term of the 224-member Karnataka Assembly will be ending on May 24. Both BJP and Congress are in the process of announcing the candidates for the election. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday said that Karnataka BJP will announce the list of candidates in the first week of April.
No change in number of constituencies in Assam after delimitation: CEC
The CEC added, "In connection with the ongoing delimitation exercise, we held discussions with political parties and other organisations in the last two days. We also met around 60 civil groups and organisations. In the delimitation exercise, we will do our best to take into account all of the political parties' and organisations' suggestions.
