Omar Abdullah Alleges PDP's Allegiance to BJP's Advantage

Having previously labeled the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP as a "spent force," Abdullah suggested that the party's decision to contest against the INDIA bloc in Jammu and Kashmir is inadvertently strengthening the BJP's position.

Omar Abdullah, the Vice President of the National Conference and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has leveled allegations against the People's Democratic Party (PDP), claiming that it is inadvertently aiding the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) interests in the Kashmir Valley.

Having previously labeled the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP as a "spent force," Abdullah suggested that the party's decision to contest against the INDIA bloc in Jammu and Kashmir is inadvertently strengthening the BJP's position.

Furthermore, Abdullah accused the PDP of strategically aligning with the INDIA bloc solely to secure the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency.

Speaking at an election rally in Anantnag district, Abdullah emphasized the opposition between the INDIA bloc and the BJP, highlighting their presence on the same platform. He insinuated that any party not aligned with the bloc may inadvertently be aiding the BJP.

Asserting that the NC's alliance with the INDIA bloc aims to counter the "communal BJP," Abdullah expressed regret over having to contest against another member of the alliance in the constituency. He defended his party's actions against accusations of selfishness, particularly those made by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti.

Abdullah pointed out that both the Congress and M.Y.Tarigami of the CPI-M have endorsed the NC candidate in the constituency, challenging the PDP to brand these parties as selfish as well.

During another election gathering in Pulwama district, which falls within the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, Abdullah urged voters to support NC candidate Syed Ruhullah Mehdi. He likened the Lok Sabha elections to a semi-final, indicating that the final showdown (Assembly elections) would take place by September of the same year.
